Interview Transcript:

- Hey what's up YouTube? This is my exclusiveinterview with Caleb Jackson.

He's killing it in real estate and Forex right now. We're here to talk about some of the challenges that he faced while pursuing the entrepreneurial path and some of the steps he took towards success.

- [Caleb] Honestly all about who you surround yourself with because in the last week alone,

the profit that we generated as a team, last week alone,

in the last four days as a team we generated 155 racks.

A lot of the time we talk about, like you know, millionaire vibes and them type of things there,

but we just talk about that shit.

You don't actually realize like, what it's gonna take or what those numbers actually have to be in

order to reach those goals in this time frame that you're looking for.

So like when you're surrounded by you know people you know who are operating

at that skillset, and you know, 200 grand, 300 grand is pocket change. Losing $50,000 in bad

transactions and shit is only one month's income.

It changes your whole perspective about money. You know what I'm saying?

Like, that's why even now like I'm so conscious about who I'm around I can't be around people

who don't have a certain energy, You know what I'm saying?

Because I just want to protect this state of mind that I'm in.

(money shuffling)

- Alright, so yeah what's up Caleb?

How's your Sunday going?

- [Caleb] It's going good man,

just here in the office

just getting really a lot of things done.

And just ready, really just

preparing for the new week.

Just ready to destroy, you know?

And just take control

of my destiny this week.

That's the view that I'm on.

- That's what's up.

What I want to do here today is just like

talk to you about how you know people from

the same country that we come from,

and similar situations like

sometimes you just can't see the way out.

You know what I mean?

- [Caleb] Right.

- What's a typical day

for you five years ago,

versus a typical day for you today?

- Well, I think to be

very honest with you,

not much has changed

in my thinking process.

I think that I was

beginning to put in the work

years ago and I'm now

seeing the results today.

So, I'm very, very proud

of my 18 year old self

because if it wasn't for the decisions

that I was making back then,

I definitely wouldn't be

enjoying I guess the benefits

that I'm really starting to see now.

And I think that's one

of the biggest things

is a lot of people,

they're too caught up in the short term

gratification of things.

You know, first of all,

it all comes down to who

you're paying attention to.

And, I've always you know had

you know very great mentors,

I've reached out, my first

mentor in Jamaica was

Shelly Anne Fraiser,

you know so it started

off with always just

looking up to great people.

You know if someone doesn't

have the insights that I want,

or if they're not necessarily

where I want to be in life,

00:03:12:05 00:03:17:05

I would prefer to be in a

room by myself reading about

00:03:17:09 00:03:20:04

billionaires than be

around people who are going

00:03:20:04 00:03:22:22

to bring negative energy or you know have

00:03:22:22 00:03:25:00

mediocre dreams of

whatever the case may be.

00:03:25:00 00:03:27:15

Because my biggest fear in life

00:03:27:15 00:03:29:13

is not reaching my full potential.

00:03:29:13 00:03:30:09

You get what I'm saying?

00:03:30:09 00:03:32:14

And I just know what I'm fully capable of,

00:03:32:14 00:03:34:23

and I just know how far

away I am from that.

00:03:34:23 00:03:37:19

So I'm not necessarily

gonna measure my stick

00:03:37:19 00:03:39:08

to what everybody else is doing,

00:03:39:08 00:03:41:10

I'm going to measure my stick according to

00:03:41:10 00:03:43:02

what I know I'm capable of.

00:03:43:02 00:03:44:20

And I know that that's world class,

00:03:44:20 00:03:49:01

I know that that is just something that's

00:03:49:01 00:03:50:16

on a different level, you know?

00:03:50:16 00:03:54:14

If the God who created

Earth is my father too,

00:03:54:14 00:03:57:01

it's just like you know

I have that same power

00:03:57:01 00:03:59:17

to do what I want to

do and do what I want,

00:03:59:17 00:04:00:13

you know what I'm saying?

00:04:00:13 00:04:01:15

And so it's just,

00:04:01:15 00:04:03:10

that's just the energy that I'm on.

00:04:05:01 00:04:06:14

So I just don't put myself,

00:04:06:14 00:04:09:20

I've never put myself in the

same box as everybody else.

00:04:09:20 00:04:13:20

And I never wanted the same

things as everybody else either.

00:04:13:20 00:04:18:20

I rather live a life where

you know I am struggling,

00:04:20:16 00:04:24:02

but doing my own thing and

struggling towards my dream,

00:04:24:02 00:04:28:22

than to you know I guess be comfortable

00:04:28:22 00:04:30:18

but hate my goddamn life.

00:04:30:18 00:04:32:12

You get what I'm saying?

00:04:32:12 00:04:33:15

- Yeah I feel you.

00:04:33:15 00:04:34:16

- [Caleb] Yeah.

00:04:34:16 00:04:37:13

I don't know if that's

the answer you wanted but.

00:04:37:13 00:04:38:14

- Yeah yeah so,

00:04:39:16 00:04:43:07

first of all like give us

a little background like,

00:04:43:07 00:04:45:05

you know like how old are you,

00:04:45:05 00:04:46:07

what do you do,

00:04:46:07 00:04:48:10

and where did you come from in Jamaica?

00:04:49:15 00:04:51:11

- Sure so number one,

00:04:52:22 00:04:54:09

I'm 23 years old.

00:04:56:16 00:04:59:17

I guess there's three parts of what I do.

00:04:59:17 00:05:02:09

Number one is real estate, investing.

00:05:02:09 00:05:04:21

With my two friends from

middle school right now.

00:05:06:18 00:05:09:22

The next thing is I run a non-profit

00:05:09:22 00:05:11:22

called Operation Help the People,

00:05:11:22 00:05:13:16

(mumbles) in Jamaica.

00:05:13:16 00:05:17:12

And, actually that's

really the, just really it.

00:05:17:12 00:05:18:08

(laughs)

00:05:18:08 00:05:19:14

And the third thing as well is,

00:05:19:14 00:05:22:14

I'm a co-founder of Care Investments,

00:05:22:14 00:05:24:05

it's a financial literacy platform

00:05:24:05 00:05:26:08

and to teach people how to trade for us.

00:05:26:08 00:05:28:11

Now, I'm not actually from Jamaica,

00:05:28:11 00:05:29:24

I'm from Baltimore, Maryland.

00:05:29:24 00:05:33:12

But I moved to Jamaica

during high school because

00:05:33:12 00:05:35:12

I was your typical misguided dude,

00:05:35:12 00:05:37:10

fightin', getting in trouble all the time,

00:05:37:10 00:05:38:21

not going to school.

00:05:38:21 00:05:40:17

If I didn't move to Jamaica I'd probably

00:05:40:17 00:05:42:20

be dead or in prison, to be honest.

00:05:43:21 00:05:46:14

And my Aunt ended up taking me in,

00:05:47:18 00:05:49:16

my Aunt is actually a dean at the

00:05:49:16 00:05:52:02

University of Technology in Jamaica.

00:05:52:02 00:05:53:16

But the thing is that,

00:05:53:16 00:05:56:18

she never really cared too much about

00:05:56:18 00:05:58:11

the academics and that kind of of stuff,

00:05:58:11 00:05:59:25

even though she was a dean,

00:05:59:25 00:06:01:18

because she knew that I was different

00:06:01:18 00:06:03:03

and appreciated my strengths.

00:06:03:03 00:06:05:12

I think the biggest thing I got in Jamaica

00:06:05:12 00:06:08:01

was when my Aunt would

teach me and lecture me

00:06:08:01 00:06:10:08

at length about you know the importance of

00:06:10:08 00:06:11:13

emotional intelligence,

00:06:11:13 00:06:13:16

and using a lot of the softer skills

00:06:13:16 00:06:15:25

that I've really been able to hone today.

00:06:15:25 00:06:17:05

- Wow that's real.

00:06:17:05 00:06:19:11

- Sometimes the people who we define as

00:06:19:11 00:06:21:12

(background noise drowns out other sounds)

00:06:21:12 00:06:22:24

You know what I'm saying?

00:06:22:24 00:06:23:20

That's really it.

00:06:25:09 00:06:26:05

- Yeah that's great.

00:06:26:05 00:06:28:14

Not a lot of people get to learn about

00:06:28:14 00:06:31:00

that at such a young age, you know?

00:06:31:00 00:06:31:21

- Yeah, mhm.

00:06:34:04 00:06:35:24

- Yeah so like, you were saying that

00:06:36:22 00:06:39:13

you always had a vision like you know,

00:06:41:20 00:06:42:22

how did you get to that point?

00:06:42:22 00:06:44:16

Like, were you just born like that?

00:06:46:03 00:06:48:11

- I think I'm a very visual person,

00:06:48:11 00:06:52:03

so I mean they put me

00:06:52:03 00:06:54:23

on ADHD medication and whatever,

00:06:54:23 00:06:58:05

but you know when I listen

to music I walk around

00:06:58:05 00:07:01:25

just because the visions

that are inside of my head

00:07:01:25 00:07:05:05

I can just see more

clearly with more detail

00:07:05:05 00:07:07:07

than you in front of my screen right now.

00:07:08:15 00:07:11:18

Even though a lot of the

things may not exist today,

00:07:11:18 00:07:13:13

that's why I like for example,

00:07:13:13 00:07:17:07

you know a lot of the things

that I'm doing right now.

00:07:17:07 00:07:19:15

I envisioned with clarity,

00:07:19:15 00:07:23:24

even with the emotional

aspects of it years ago.

00:07:23:24 00:07:25:06

You know I felt the emotion,

00:07:25:06 00:07:27:04

I could see it just so visually.

00:07:27:04 00:07:30:04

So for the better and

for the worst, right?

00:07:31:14 00:07:33:20

I think that's a unique

characteristic that

00:07:33:20 00:07:35:02

I've always had,

00:07:35:23 00:07:38:11

I don't think I have anything else that is

00:07:38:11 00:07:39:23

quote unquote "Special,"

00:07:41:00 00:07:43:17

You know I've been written

off most of my life

00:07:43:17 00:07:47:03

by most teachers in the system

of school and education.

00:07:47:03 00:07:50:24

I mean I only have two CXC's,

00:07:50:24 00:07:53:07

I failed school.

00:07:54:04 00:07:54:24

- Yeah.

00:07:54:24 00:07:55:20

- [Caleb] I dropped out of university,

00:07:55:20 00:07:58:06

couldn't get into business school because

00:07:58:06 00:08:00:08

I couldn't pass applied

calculus, you know?

00:08:00:08 00:08:02:16

Even (interviewer laughs)

university because

00:08:02:16 00:08:06:04

I knew that if I took the

SAT you know that I probably

00:08:06:04 00:08:09:24

couldn't end up you know,

00:08:09:24 00:08:11:03

going to university.

00:08:11:03 00:08:12:13

So then I said okay,

00:08:12:13 00:08:14:12

I went to community college for two years,

00:08:14:12 00:08:17:02

and then I got into university

as a transfer student,

00:08:17:02 00:08:19:14

instead of having to

face the SATs and stuff.

00:08:19:14 00:08:22:12

So, I think I just always

find a unique way to

00:08:22:12 00:08:24:16

do the same things that

everybody else did.

00:08:25:19 00:08:29:25

When I went to Jamaica I

went to Victory Academy,

00:08:29:25 00:08:34:00

and there was a time when

the teachers took my school,

00:08:34:00 00:08:37:10

took my phone and everything

for like a whole semester,

00:08:37:10 00:08:38:24

I said I'm tired of it,

00:08:38:24 00:08:41:09

and then I ended up walking,

00:08:41:09 00:08:44:07

skipping school and

walking to Hillel Academy,

00:08:44:07 00:08:45:23

in Jamaica.

00:08:45:23 00:08:47:08

And talk to the principal,

00:08:47:08 00:08:51:12

and talk to the administrator,

00:08:51:12 00:08:53:02

and talk to the board.

00:08:53:02 00:08:56:23

And came back to that school

twice in the same day.

00:08:56:23 00:08:58:06

And they were just like,

00:08:58:06 00:09:01:02

come bring your Aunt and your Uncle

00:09:01:02 00:09:02:14

Monday morning at 8am.

00:09:03:12 00:09:05:10

And then I had to go home

and explain to my Aunt

00:09:05:10 00:09:07:07

that I skipped school to do this.

00:09:07:07 00:09:09:19

And I was able to get into Hillel Academy

00:09:09:19 00:09:11:04

without any paperwork.

00:09:12:03 00:09:14:16

So I think, I've just

always found unique ways

00:09:14:16 00:09:16:12

to do I guess the same thing.

00:09:17:20 00:09:20:02

- Damn well what I wanted

to pinpoint is like

00:09:20:02 00:09:22:08

when did you decide that you had,

00:09:23:19 00:09:25:03

you wanted more?

00:09:25:03 00:09:27:05

You didn't want ordinary,

00:09:27:05 00:09:28:05

what triggered that?

00:09:29:10 00:09:34:08

- I mean I grew up in a

pessimistic household,

00:09:34:08 00:09:36:04

is a nice way to say it.

00:09:37:11 00:09:39:18

And I think I just saw,

00:09:39:18 00:09:40:15

for example,

00:09:40:15 00:09:42:23

you know (mumbles)

00:09:42:23 00:09:44:10

and those types of things.

00:09:45:10 00:09:47:09

I have a very strong

relationship with my Mom,

00:09:47:09 00:09:50:19

but my Father and stuff

I just saw everything

00:09:50:19 00:09:52:11

I didn't want to be.

00:09:52:11 00:09:56:23

And everything that I didn't

want to be was just typical.

00:09:56:23 00:10:00:02

You know, like I guess the

people who I have the most

00:10:00:02 00:10:01:08

negative relationships with,

00:10:01:08 00:10:03:10

I'm just trying to find the right wording.

00:10:04:19 00:10:06:14

We're doing the very things that everybody

00:10:06:14 00:10:08:09

else was doing.

00:10:08:09 00:10:09:22

Going to college,

00:10:09:22 00:10:11:08

strong on paper,

00:10:11:08 00:10:12:18

master's degree,

00:10:12:18 00:10:15:16

and jobs and full resumes but,

00:10:15:16 00:10:18:21

didn't live the lifestyle

that I wanted to have.

00:10:18:21 00:10:21:14

Didn't you know have the

family that I wanted to have.

00:10:23:01 00:10:26:08

And just weren't the

people who I wanted to be.

00:10:26:08 00:10:28:15

And I realized that I just never wanted to

00:10:28:15 00:10:29:22

be that for myself.

00:10:29:22 00:10:32:04

Maybe also it was out of rebellion,

00:10:32:04 00:10:34:22

just because I just wanted

to be the complete opposite

00:10:34:22 00:10:36:18

of what I was living with.

00:10:36:18 00:10:40:14

And I would go and seek mentors,

00:10:40:14 00:10:43:13

and I would see you know my mentors had

00:10:43:13 00:10:44:08

you know,

00:10:47:16 00:10:49:13

high school educations.

00:10:49:13 00:10:52:17

You know running million

dollar businesses.

00:10:52:17 00:10:57:17

You know being in the room with CEOs

00:10:57:20 00:11:00:01

I would just walk as an entrepreneur and

00:11:00:01 00:11:01:01

just say hey,

00:11:01:01 00:11:02:16

you know my name is Caleb Jackson,

00:11:02:16 00:11:04:11

I'm an 18 year old entrepreneur,

00:11:04:11 00:11:06:07

and I want to learn how

to be successful like you.

00:11:06:07 00:11:09:00

Can I have 15 minutes of

your time to interview you?

00:11:09:00 00:11:09:21

You know what I'm saying?

00:11:09:21 00:11:11:21

And just realizing that I like business,

00:11:11:21 00:11:14:16

I like you know kind of like,

00:11:14:16 00:11:17:15

the unconventional-ness of

being a dropout entrepreneur.

00:11:17:15 00:11:19:17

I wanted that for myself.

00:11:19:17 00:11:21:08

Because those were all the people,

00:11:21:08 00:11:22:24

you know who you know I look up to Diddy,

00:11:22:24 00:11:25:04

and I look up to a lot of these people and

00:11:25:04 00:11:26:24

all of them had the

characteristics that were

00:11:26:24 00:11:28:15

completely opposite to the people who was

00:11:28:15 00:11:32:09

telling me what to do like

the deans of the schools,

00:11:32:09 00:11:33:04

the teachers,

00:11:33:04 00:11:36:07

and you know the people who

I was living with as well.

00:11:36:07 00:11:37:19

So I had to really decide like

00:11:37:19 00:11:39:11

who do I want to take advice from?

00:11:39:11 00:11:42:12

The people who are my

definition of success,

00:11:42:12 00:11:44:02

or the people who are

telling me what to do,

00:11:44:02 00:11:45:20

who I don't want to be anything like?

00:11:45:20 00:11:47:17

You know and I think that was a really

00:11:47:17 00:11:48:20

big game changer for me,

00:11:48:20 00:11:51:20

and believing in myself enough

to make those decisions.

00:11:51:20 00:11:53:20

I think the next thing as

well is I don't watch TV,

00:11:53:20 00:11:55:06

I read a lot of books.

00:11:55:06 00:11:56:14

And I'm very visual as well,

00:11:56:14 00:11:58:20

so when I'm reading books

about Warren Buffett,

00:11:58:20 00:12:00:13

and a lot of these big guys,

00:12:00:13 00:12:02:21

it's like I'm visually

walking through their story

00:12:02:21 00:12:04:17

and learning their tricks and their habits

00:12:04:17 00:12:06:10

and instilling them in my own life.

00:12:07:12 00:12:08:24

- Right, makes sense.

00:12:08:24 00:12:11:07

So when you're in like a,

00:12:12:06 00:12:14:02

let's just hypothesize you know for

00:12:14:02 00:12:16:04

all the people out there,

00:12:16:04 00:12:19:23

when you're in like a

not so good environment,

00:12:19:23 00:12:22:04

and like all you're seeing around is like

00:12:22:04 00:12:23:23

all this darkness,

00:12:23:23 00:12:26:17

and if you know if you're

trying to be an entrepreneur,

00:12:29:19 00:12:34:08

how easy was it for you to

just walk up to you know CEOs

00:12:34:08 00:12:35:18

and ask for their time,

00:12:35:18 00:12:37:15

were they always receptive?

00:12:38:19 00:12:40:13

- Yeah I mean this is the biggest problem

00:12:40:13 00:12:43:11

that people really mess up on is,

00:12:44:17 00:12:47:00

see if I try to do what I'm

doing now at 30 years old,

00:12:47:00 00:12:48:05

I think it'd be a lot harder.

00:12:48:05 00:12:50:24

I think the mere fact that when I was 18,

00:12:50:24 00:12:54:08

it's not everyday someone

sees a black teenager

00:12:54:08 00:12:56:13

walk into their office with no appointment

00:12:56:13 00:12:58:19

and say you know, hey.

00:12:58:19 00:12:59:23

- Yeah.

00:12:59:23 00:13:01:14

- [Caleb] If I was a 30

year old trying to do that,

00:13:01:14 00:13:03:07

they'd probably think I'm weird.

00:13:03:07 00:13:04:16

(laughs)

00:13:04:16 00:13:08:02

I think I always knew from a young age

00:13:08:02 00:13:10:01

and just understanding you know,

00:13:12:12 00:13:14:05

like my youngness,

00:13:14:05 00:13:15:19

my youthfulness I'm sorry,

00:13:15:19 00:13:17:03

was my advantage.

00:13:17:03 00:13:19:15

Because it allowed me

00:13:19:15 00:13:23:20

to separate myself from the herd.

00:13:23:20 00:13:24:15

You know what I'm saying?

00:13:24:15 00:13:27:24

Because the people who you know,

00:13:27:24 00:13:30:03

at my age were just not

concerned about the things

00:13:30:03 00:13:31:20

that I'm concerned about.

00:13:31:20 00:13:35:02

So it allowed me to kind of you know,

00:13:35:02 00:13:37:16

get my foot in the door a lot deeper

00:13:37:16 00:13:40:23

than if I waited and wasted

my time and wasted my life.

00:13:42:01 00:13:44:12

And I also just love the

energy that it came with.

00:13:44:12 00:13:46:19

I mean when I would go to the CEOs

00:13:46:19 00:13:48:22

I mean the first CEO that I did that to,

00:13:48:22 00:13:50:05

I ended up getting a job.

00:13:51:08 00:13:53:14

Instantly on the spot.

00:13:53:14 00:13:56:17

And I thought 10 dollars

an hour was like you know,

00:13:56:17 00:13:57:19

the world you know?

00:13:57:19 00:13:59:13

I was like 10 dollars an hour?!

00:13:59:13 00:14:00:24

Thank you!

00:14:00:24 00:14:01:20

Thank you!

00:14:01:20 00:14:03:16

And I got to watch the CEO,

00:14:03:16 00:14:06:05

I mean it's actually

really hilarious because,

00:14:07:03 00:14:10:03

my drive for real estate

started all the way back then.

00:14:10:03 00:14:11:00

You know what I'm saying?

00:14:11:00 00:14:14:07

So it's just you know seeing

what consistency really does.

00:14:14:07 00:14:16:18

But I think that's just the biggest thing

00:14:16:18 00:14:18:21

is just like believing in myself,

00:14:18:21 00:14:21:23

understanding the advantages

of the things I have today,

00:14:21:23 00:14:24:15

and fully exploiting them to the maximum.

00:14:24:15 00:14:25:21

As if you know,

00:14:25:21 00:14:27:08

life will end tomorrow.

00:14:27:08 00:14:29:09

That's how I view my time.

00:14:29:09 00:14:31:00

- Right right right.

00:14:31:00 00:14:33:13

So, how do you know,

00:14:33:13 00:14:37:04

like when you were on,

00:14:37:04 00:14:39:13

first with something that

people say is so crazy,

00:14:39:13 00:14:43:00

you know, people say going out

on your own is always crazy.

00:14:43:00 00:14:45:15

So how do you know when you

were on the right track?

00:14:48:24 00:14:50:23

- [Caleb] I was in university

and this was really when

00:14:50:23 00:14:52:04

I dropped out of school,

00:14:53:02 00:14:56:21

and I was just sitting

there and they spent a whole

00:14:56:21 00:14:59:15

hour of class going

through what an independent

00:14:59:15 00:15:00:18

(mumbles) variable is.

00:15:01:18 00:15:02:14

(laughs)

00:15:02:14 00:15:03:24

I literally just looked in

00:15:03:24 00:15:05:25

am I allowed to use profanity?

00:15:05:25 00:15:07:22

I don't know, just be real?

00:15:07:22 00:15:08:20

- Sure.

00:15:08:20 00:15:10:03

- In keeping with the

realness I was just you know,

00:15:10:03 00:15:12:07

sitting in class and I was

just thinking to myself,

00:15:12:07 00:15:13:20

why the fuck am I here?

00:15:15:20 00:15:17:16

- Yeah, feel you there.

00:15:17:16 00:15:20:03

- I walked out of Douglas,

00:15:20:03 00:15:21:03

and I just stood there,

00:15:21:03 00:15:22:16

and I just observed everybody,

00:15:22:16 00:15:24:22

and I just literally didn't move.

00:15:24:22 00:15:27:02

And I realized I just

didn't have an answer

00:15:27:02 00:15:28:09

to why I'm here.

00:15:30:17 00:15:31:23

And I was just like you know,

00:15:31:23 00:15:34:05

I went out and I printed

out the finance syllabus

00:15:34:05 00:15:35:01

at Howard University,

00:15:35:01 00:15:35:22

and took a look at it,

00:15:35:22 00:15:36:18

and I said,

00:15:37:17 00:15:42:17

I'm here for four years and

accumulative classes that

00:15:42:21 00:15:44:19

I'm going to be taking is 40 credits,

00:15:44:19 00:15:47:06

that is like actually

relevant to my major,

00:15:48:20 00:15:49:16

this is you know,

00:15:51:01 00:15:52:10

it just didn't make sense.

00:15:52:10 00:15:53:08

And people were just like,

00:15:53:08 00:15:55:19

you know it's only four years,

00:15:55:19 00:15:56:17

it's only this and that,

00:15:56:17 00:15:59:04

and I'm like that's

actually really expensive.

00:15:59:04 00:16:00:15

- Yeah.

00:16:00:15 00:16:03:17

- You know, you're in your twenties,

00:16:03:17 00:16:04:13

twenty years old,

00:16:04:13 00:16:06:16

twenty years of your life is already gone.

00:16:07:13 00:16:10:15

Then you work until quote

unquote you're 70 years old,

00:16:10:15 00:16:13:13

so like you have a very

actually relatively small

00:16:13:13 00:16:17:03

window of actually working

in productive years.

00:16:17:03 00:16:18:16

And when you're creating a business,

00:16:18:16 00:16:19:23

it's about investible hours,

00:16:19:23 00:16:23:04

and it literally made no sense to me,

00:16:25:23 00:16:28:07

to continue what everybody else was doing.

00:16:28:07 00:16:32:10

I believe that even firmly

now because if I wanted

00:16:32:10 00:16:34:04

to go back to university,

00:16:34:04 00:16:37:14

that will forever eternity be there.

00:16:37:14 00:16:39:14

You catch what I'm saying?

00:16:39:14 00:16:41:07

If I was to go back to university now,

00:16:41:07 00:16:43:09

I would have more

entrepreneurial experience,

00:16:43:09 00:16:45:05

and then if I went to

go to apply for a job

00:16:45:05 00:16:47:11

with the degree I would

even be a stronger candidate

00:16:47:11 00:16:52:02

because I can prove what

I've done without a boss.

00:16:52:02 00:16:54:12

You know, but the opportunities of today

00:16:54:12 00:16:57:01

and the opportunities that

I've already seized on,

00:16:57:01 00:17:00:14

those opportunities are already gone.

00:17:00:14 00:17:01:24

You know had I waited anymore.

00:17:01:24 00:17:04:00

So I think the biggest thing was just

00:17:04:00 00:17:07:09

having a very clear

understanding of who I want to be

00:17:07:09 00:17:09:04

and where I want to go

00:17:09:04 00:17:11:16

and then just removing all the fluff

00:17:11:16 00:17:12:15

to getting to that goal.

00:17:12:15 00:17:15:02

Because it's not like I

was trying to be a lawyer

00:17:15:02 00:17:16:00

or a doctor,

00:17:16:00 00:17:18:09

I'm trying to be a real

estate entrepreneur.

00:17:18:09 00:17:21:23

You know and that does

not require a degree.

00:17:23:23 00:17:24:22

- Yeah that's real.

00:17:25:22 00:17:29:24

Yeah definitely had a lot of

those moments going through it.

00:17:31:09 00:17:34:14

But I didn't get that kind of

00:17:36:12 00:17:37:08

insight that I needed

00:17:37:08 00:17:40:06

so I was just was like you

know I guess I'll just finish

00:17:40:06 00:17:41:16

and see what happens.

00:17:41:16 00:17:42:17

- [Caleb] Right.

00:17:42:17 00:17:44:20

But you've been (mumbles)

so it's all good.

00:17:44:20 00:17:47:06

- Yeah it's all good.

00:17:47:06 00:17:49:01

So here's the main question,

00:17:49:01 00:17:53:06

why do you think that anyone out there can

00:17:53:06 00:17:55:02

achieve what you did?

00:17:56:24 00:17:59:14

Because some people really

believe that they can't.

00:18:01:06 00:18:02:13

- That's the problem.

00:18:02:13 00:18:05:02

I mean that people don't really envision

00:18:05:02 00:18:09:02

better for themselves so

that's where it starts.

00:18:09:02 00:18:11:15

I've always envisioned better for myself.

00:18:11:15 00:18:14:23

So it's not even necessarily you know,

00:18:14:23 00:18:17:19

(mumbles) I think, I mean,

00:18:17:19 00:18:20:17

I can't achieve what other

people want to achieve,

00:18:20:17 00:18:22:19

I'm on my own journey and my own path.

00:18:22:19 00:18:25:17

And I think anybody can

do what I want to do.

00:18:26:18 00:18:29:14

It's just simply because I'm consistent.

00:18:29:14 00:18:31:19

You know it's literally like this,

00:18:33:21 00:18:38:03

someone may have a master's

degree and all the relationships

00:18:38:03 00:18:40:12

and all the connections and everything,

00:18:40:12 00:18:42:17

and be in the same field as me,

00:18:42:17 00:18:45:24

but they're not going to work 15 hours,

00:18:45:24 00:18:49:08

20 hours a day seven days a week.

00:18:49:08 00:18:52:01

They're not going to you know,

00:18:52:01 00:18:54:21

I'm willing to go forever.

00:18:54:21 00:18:55:17

(laughs)

00:18:55:17 00:18:56:13

You know what I'm saying?

00:18:56:13 00:18:58:09

I'm not looking at this

like okay if this is in

00:18:58:09 00:19:01:17

the next year or whatever

I'm going to give up.

00:19:01:17 00:19:06:17

As long as I can pay my

bills and live on minimums,

00:19:06:23 00:19:08:18

and cover my bottom line,

00:19:08:18 00:19:12:22

I am willing to go and do what

I'm doing right now forever.

00:19:12:22 00:19:15:06

And that's just simply

because I love what I do.

00:19:15:06 00:19:17:11

I love Operation Help the People,

00:19:17:11 00:19:19:05

I love real estate,

00:19:19:05 00:19:22:02

I love real estate so much.

00:19:22:02 00:19:23:22

You know if everybody was being paid

00:19:23:22 00:19:25:07

the same amount of money,

00:19:25:07 00:19:28:13

and could never you

know earn a dollar more

00:19:28:13 00:19:29:16

throughout their entire lives,

00:19:29:16 00:19:31:20

I would still do real estate.

00:19:31:20 00:19:34:14

You know I would still,

you know what I'm saying?

00:19:34:14 00:19:36:01

So I think that's the

biggest thing is that

00:19:36:01 00:19:38:23

people are in situations where they hate

00:19:38:23 00:19:40:07

what they're doing in the first place,

00:19:40:07 00:19:43:17

so then leveling up in

the thing that they hate

00:19:43:17 00:19:47:18

you know, isn't necessarily

an ingredient for success.

00:19:47:18 00:19:48:21

- Yeah yeah.

00:19:48:21 00:19:51:03

- You know I've had to go

through so much failure,

00:19:51:03 00:19:54:00

like this is the first

month where I'll probably

00:19:54:00 00:19:55:22

make 80 grand this month, right?

00:19:56:24 00:19:57:19

And,

00:19:59:23 00:20:02:09

but I've been grinding for two years

00:20:02:09 00:20:05:15

of failure of losing businesses,

00:20:05:15 00:20:06:25

deals going bad,

00:20:06:25 00:20:09:19

not being paid for months at a time,

00:20:11:12 00:20:12:19

you know suffering,

00:20:12:19 00:20:14:24

not having relationships,

00:20:14:24 00:20:18:20

pivoting from one failed

partnership to the next,

00:20:18:20 00:20:22:14

you know I'm actually

still grossly underpaid

00:20:22:14 00:20:24:22

when you consider the amount of hours

00:20:24:22 00:20:27:11

and sleepless nights that have been put in

00:20:27:11 00:20:29:13

to get to this point.

00:20:29:13 00:20:31:01

You know what I'm saying?

00:20:32:02 00:20:35:16

You know,

00:20:35:16 00:20:38:15

so I think that's the biggest thing.

00:20:38:15 00:20:40:13

That's really the biggest thing.

00:20:41:22 00:20:43:14

I hope that answered the question.

00:20:44:17 00:20:46:08

- Definitely that was a handful.

00:20:47:19 00:20:50:19

So like how would you deal with,

00:20:50:19 00:20:53:05

or what did you consider as failure,

00:20:53:05 00:20:55:20

and how did you deal with that?

00:20:55:20 00:20:57:03

Like how did you manage?

00:20:57:03 00:20:59:04

- I think failure,

00:20:59:04 00:20:59:25

(phone dings)

00:20:59:25 00:21:00:21

I don't think even think

00:21:00:21 00:21:01:21

I'm sorry,

00:21:01:21 00:21:06:21

I have people sending

me properties and stuff.

00:21:07:14 00:21:10:00

I don't really consider anything failure

00:21:10:00 00:21:10:21

except quitting.

00:21:10:21 00:21:14:19

I did have a business where

I took in investor money,

00:21:15:19 00:21:17:10

lost it in the markets,

00:21:17:10 00:21:21:09

and now you know I had to

pay all my investors back.

00:21:22:24 00:21:23:20

But that's still,

00:21:23:20 00:21:27:03

you know that would be like my

first true business failure.

00:21:27:03 00:21:30:25

I've had projects that don't

go well and things like that.

00:21:30:25 00:21:34:21

But just because I failed or

didn't have a successful month

00:21:34:21 00:21:36:17

or didn't have a successful idea,

00:21:36:17 00:21:37:13

I mean,

00:21:37:13 00:21:40:15

I'm not quitting the industries I'm in.

00:21:40:15 00:21:41:19

You know, for example,

00:21:41:19 00:21:43:14

even though the business failed,

00:21:43:14 00:21:45:07

no investor lost money,

00:21:45:07 00:21:46:18

they're paid back,

00:21:46:18 00:21:48:10

and then I'm just going

to continue and take all

00:21:48:10 00:21:50:06

those lessons and move forward.

00:21:50:06 00:21:52:03

So it's not actually really a failure,

00:21:52:03 00:21:54:05

it's just more so I stumbled.

00:21:56:16 00:21:57:19

And went through all the emotional

00:21:57:19 00:21:59:03

pains that that came with.

00:22:01:06 00:22:02:05

I don't even really think,

00:22:02:05 00:22:03:17

I don't really think anything is failure.

00:22:03:17 00:22:06:21

I think failure is when you give up.

00:22:06:21 00:22:08:22

- But the thing is like,

00:22:08:22 00:22:11:14

when you have bills to

pay and you're hungry,

00:22:11:14 00:22:14:21

and people are just

continually beating you down,

00:22:14:21 00:22:17:16

like you know what the hell are you doing,

00:22:17:16 00:22:20:03

how did you like keep

going through all of that?

00:22:21:01 00:22:24:10

- [Caleb] Just something deep

within me just said that like

00:22:24:10 00:22:26:20

I literally would walk

off the bus pissed off,

00:22:26:20 00:22:27:16

I've lost,

00:22:27:16 00:22:29:06

actually no I have failed before,

00:22:29:06 00:22:32:03

I had an online web

application development company

00:22:32:03 00:22:33:10

that was doing really good,

00:22:33:10 00:22:35:03

built the company from nothing,

00:22:35:03 00:22:36:22

from scratch,

00:22:36:22 00:22:38:15

and right around the time we were getting

00:22:38:15 00:22:40:08

our first twenty grand clients or so

00:22:40:08 00:22:43:04

I realized my partner

was siphoning off money,

00:22:43:04 00:22:44:23

that was a failure.

00:22:44:23 00:22:46:09

But even when I was pissed off,

00:22:46:09 00:22:48:05

I was so angry on the bus,

00:22:48:05 00:22:52:18

I think the more negative that I felt,

00:22:52:18 00:22:54:14

I just remembered in my brain,

00:22:54:14 00:22:56:04

just saying keep going,

00:22:56:04 00:22:57:09

keep going,

00:22:57:09 00:23:00:03

keep fucking going, keep fucking going.

00:23:00:03 00:23:01:16

Don't stop.

00:23:01:16 00:23:06:09

And I think that like the

more the pain I was feeling

00:23:06:09 00:23:09:15

only made me dig my teeth

into it even further.

00:23:09:15 00:23:12:14

Because it's like damn you

done paid for all this.

00:23:12:14 00:23:14:13

I've had anxiety attacks and everything,

00:23:14:13 00:23:15:19

I just remember myself,

00:23:15:19 00:23:17:04

it all depends on what you tell yourself

00:23:17:04 00:23:18:01

in the back of your head.

00:23:18:01 00:23:21:04

I have this little speaker

box inside of my brain,

00:23:21:04 00:23:23:13

just yelling keep fucking going!

00:23:23:13 00:23:28:05

That's just like the energy in

the voice within me talking.

00:23:30:24 00:23:32:14

And I just think that's really it.

00:23:32:14 00:23:36:07

You know I think like

I've had so many examples

00:23:36:07 00:23:38:20

through mentors and books,

00:23:38:20 00:23:43:07

that they all went through

the same exact thing

00:23:43:07 00:23:44:03

that I'm going through,

00:23:44:03 00:23:45:13

so the main fact that I'm going through it

00:23:45:13 00:23:48:01

is just validation that I'm on that path.

00:23:48:01 00:23:49:11

And I think that just understanding that

00:23:49:11 00:23:52:03

and continuing that is

really the energy I'm on.

00:23:53:05 00:23:54:09

- Right.

00:23:54:09 00:23:58:02

So you say you love real estate,

00:23:58:02 00:24:00:01

so why do you do,

00:24:00:01 00:24:01:23

like why is Forex apart of your life,

00:24:01:23 00:24:04:20

why is OHTP apart of your life,

00:24:04:20 00:24:06:19

why is so many things.

00:24:06:19 00:24:09:14

- (Caleb) I love OHTP because it's my

00:24:09:14 00:24:11:20

first successful endeavor,

00:24:11:20 00:24:13:15

the happiness you come from making

00:24:13:15 00:24:15:21

a difference in society,

00:24:15:21 00:24:17:16

is something that's

unparalleled to any money

00:24:17:16 00:24:18:20

that can be made.

00:24:18:20 00:24:20:24

And I don't believe that

God put me on this Earth

00:24:20:24 00:24:23:17

to accumulate Benjamins,

00:24:23:17 00:24:25:15

you know I think that

he put me on this Earth

00:24:25:15 00:24:27:18

to make a difference in people's lives.

00:24:27:18 00:24:32:01

I think that that will always

be the number one priority

00:24:32:01 00:24:34:20

because I'm not going to

stand before God and say hey,

00:24:34:20 00:24:36:04

you know I made a billion dollars,

00:24:36:04 00:24:38:23

it's just more so you

created me for a purpose.

00:24:38:23 00:24:41:11

And I use that purpose

and I build a mission

00:24:41:11 00:24:42:06

(mumbles)

00:24:42:06 00:24:44:02

So that's number one.

00:24:44:02 00:24:49:02

Forex and trading is a

means to garner more funds.

00:24:49:05 00:24:52:07

You know if you look at

where wealthy people,

00:24:52:07 00:24:53:08

where a majority of them come from,

00:24:53:08 00:24:54:03

it's real estate,

00:24:54:03 00:24:56:08

owning a business with

the financial markets.

00:24:56:08 00:25:00:05

And that's really where I

concentrate a lot of my time in.

00:25:00:05 00:25:02:15

I'm not into equities as

a long term value investor

00:25:02:15 00:25:05:12

right now because where I feel

we are in the marketplace,

00:25:05:12 00:25:08:17

but the best place to actively

trade I feel is either

00:25:08:17 00:25:11:12

Options, or the Forex market.

00:25:11:12 00:25:14:14

And the Forex market is I

guess my weapon of choice,

00:25:14:14 00:25:17:07

that funds the things that

I love like real estate,

00:25:17:07 00:25:18:11

traveling,

00:25:18:11 00:25:21:10

and also just paying bills

and things like that.

00:25:21:10 00:25:24:06

Real estate is where I'm going

to be long term investing.

00:25:25:20 00:25:28:15

It's where you know I see myself you know

00:25:28:15 00:25:30:10

owning you know,

00:25:30:10 00:25:32:18

billions of dollars worth of real estate

00:25:32:18 00:25:35:12

and really just moving the

ball forward in that regard.

00:25:36:24 00:25:40:06

And it's I guess the passion

engine that just never stops.

00:25:40:06 00:25:43:07

And then OHTP is just like you know,

00:25:43:07 00:25:44:18

where we're going to make an impact

00:25:44:18 00:25:46:06

and what I'm really passionate about,

00:25:46:06 00:25:47:20

which is youth development.

00:25:49:05 00:25:52:17

Because that's just I guess you know,

00:25:52:17 00:25:55:19

the more giving back aspect of it.

00:25:56:15 00:25:58:21

So I feel like in order

for me to live the life

00:25:58:21 00:26:00:20

that I wanted to do,

00:26:00:20 00:26:02:22

I need to operate you know,

00:26:02:22 00:26:05:23

a business that I really

love and that's real estate,

00:26:05:23 00:26:07:12

I can generate money quick,

00:26:07:12 00:26:09:08

and you have to have

a skill that can print

00:26:09:08 00:26:10:15

and make you liquid quickly,

00:26:10:15 00:26:12:10

and that's Forex.

00:26:12:10 00:26:14:18

And then also I think that

life is pointless if you're

00:26:14:18 00:26:17:01

not making a difference

in other people's lives.

00:26:17:01 00:26:19:14

And that's Operation Help the People.

00:26:19:14 00:26:20:14

- Yeah that's real.

00:26:20:14 00:26:24:03

I also think we forget

that part, you know.

00:26:25:09 00:26:28:14

Yeah that was really

helpful and that was a lot.

00:26:28:14 00:26:30:09

The last question I want to ask is,

00:26:31:18 00:26:35:03

(mumbles) went to the same college,

00:26:35:03 00:26:36:25

that's where we met originally,

00:26:38:20 00:26:40:24

But honestly I didn't

really get to know you

00:26:40:24 00:26:43:25

up until since I joined Care.

00:26:43:25 00:26:45:01

- [Caleb] Appreciate it.

00:26:46:10 00:26:47:24

- And it's been great you know,

00:26:47:24 00:26:50:08

just joining Care has taught me a lot,

00:26:51:12 00:26:54:21

so I want you to talk

about like what Care is

00:26:54:21 00:26:56:08

and like what do they offer.

00:26:57:11 00:26:59:13

- [Caleb] I appreciate that.

00:26:59:13 00:27:02:19

So I guess I'll give a

really quick backdrop

00:27:02:19 00:27:04:23

into why Care started.

00:27:04:23 00:27:06:22

So while I was in university,

00:27:06:22 00:27:08:11

just getting my real education,

00:27:08:11 00:27:09:23

and the real education came from reading

00:27:09:23 00:27:10:22

Rich Dad, Poor Dad,

00:27:10:22 00:27:14:09

and what's outside of the institution,

00:27:14:09 00:27:17:04

I just realized that okay

real estate is the way to go,

00:27:17:04 00:27:20:14

but I started to how can I

make as much money as possible?

00:27:20:14 00:27:23:10

So I would you know do school,

00:27:23:10 00:27:25:07

do OHTP and work all night.

00:27:25:07 00:27:27:24

And you know different retail shops,

00:27:27:24 00:27:28:20

and things like that.

00:27:28:20 00:27:29:21

But I hated my life.

00:27:31:17 00:27:33:10

So I took all the money

that I had and made

00:27:33:10 00:27:34:22

my first investment in a stock.

00:27:34:22 00:27:35:25

And I got lucky,

00:27:37:01 00:27:40:02

but made like a whole month or more income

00:27:40:02 00:27:41:21

in less than a week.

00:27:41:21 00:27:43:06

(laughs)

00:27:43:06 00:27:46:04

And I said okay, am I gonna

continue busting my tail

00:27:46:04 00:27:47:16

at these jobs that I hate

00:27:47:16 00:27:50:04

and feeling exhausted all the time,

00:27:50:04 00:27:54:14

or am I gonna put all my

effort and all my energy into

00:27:54:14 00:27:56:09

you know the financial markets which

00:27:57:07 00:27:59:16

has produced way more

result with less effort.

00:27:59:16 00:28:00:11

Right?

00:28:00:11 00:28:01:17

The 20/80 rule, right?

00:28:03:17 00:28:05:11

So I really started to

go in on the market,

00:28:05:11 00:28:06:11

seeing more success,

00:28:06:11 00:28:08:01

seeing more consistency,

00:28:08:01 00:28:11:01

and I realized that this

is where financial freedom

00:28:11:01 00:28:12:03

is going to come from.

00:28:13:14 00:28:16:05

But then obviously you go

through your periods of failure,

00:28:16:05 00:28:17:19

traveled the world trying to get

00:28:17:19 00:28:19:15

the best mentorship as possible,

00:28:21:08 00:28:23:06

and my partner Abraham Robertson and I

00:28:23:06 00:28:25:15

realized that we wanted to start teaching.

00:28:25:15 00:28:30:03

Because financial freedom

and financial independence

00:28:30:03 00:28:32:24

and financial literacy

in the financial markets

00:28:32:24 00:28:35:04

like I thought by getting

a degree in finance that

00:28:35:04 00:28:37:04

I would learn about investing,

00:28:37:04 00:28:38:22

but then when I looked at

the syllabus I realized

00:28:38:22 00:28:40:19

that this really wasn't the case.

00:28:41:17 00:28:43:13

So we realized that this

is something that needs

00:28:43:13 00:28:44:17

to be taught at scale,

00:28:44:17 00:28:48:01

and we started to take students in,

00:28:48:01 00:28:50:10

but then the students

started making money too.

00:28:50:10 00:28:51:05

(laughs)

00:28:51:05 00:28:52:23

And making it way faster

than when we were going

00:28:52:23 00:28:54:11

through the pain of starting it.

00:28:54:11 00:28:55:10

- Right.

00:28:55:10 00:28:59:02

- So Care Education is

we just tried to build

00:28:59:02 00:29:03:01

a company we wish we had when

we first started trading.

00:29:04:13 00:29:08:00

And that is just an all inclusive I guess

00:29:08:00 00:29:10:06

trading incubator.

00:29:10:06 00:29:12:14

Where it's a five week

course where we teach you

00:29:12:14 00:29:13:18

our strategies,

00:29:14:17 00:29:15:19

but then on top of that,

00:29:15:19 00:29:18:06

you get access to our

website which has all

00:29:18:06 00:29:19:14

our videos recorded,

00:29:19:14 00:29:21:02

24/7 access,

00:29:21:02 00:29:23:15

and in addition to that

you've got a community,

00:29:23:15 00:29:25:02

because the thing is we also study the

00:29:25:02 00:29:26:22

15 principals of success,

00:29:26:22 00:29:28:16

one of which is to have a mastermind,

00:29:28:16 00:29:30:14

and be around like minded people,

00:29:30:14 00:29:34:00

so by building a community

we can set our students

00:29:34:00 00:29:36:01

up for success because

they are around people

00:29:36:01 00:29:37:17

doing the same thing.

00:29:37:17 00:29:38:19

- Right.

00:29:38:19 00:29:41:06

- On top of that during the week we also

00:29:41:06 00:29:43:08

(phone rings)

00:29:43:08 00:29:45:03

on top of that during the week,

00:29:46:06 00:29:47:17

we show our weekly analysis,

00:29:47:17 00:29:49:18

and we even have a telegram that

00:29:49:18 00:29:53:13

shows the trades that we're

looking at in real time.

00:29:53:13 00:29:55:17

And lastly, we run a book club.

00:29:55:17 00:29:58:20

Because if you don't develop

yourself and if you don't

00:30:00:15 00:30:04:08

you know, elevate your mindset

and elevate who you are.

00:30:04:08 00:30:06:03

No matter how much money is thrown at you,

00:30:06:03 00:30:08:15

you will never really be able

to reach your full potential.

00:30:08:15 00:30:10:17

So you go in all on that.

00:30:10:17 00:30:12:23

And all that's for just a one time fee.

00:30:12:23 00:30:14:25

And we are starting classes again 2019,

00:30:14:25 00:30:18:06

so if you do want to join appreciate it.

00:30:18:06 00:30:20:00

- Yeah that's real.

00:30:20:00 00:30:21:02

That's real.

00:30:21:02 00:30:24:10

Well I appreciate you taking

the time today, for real.

00:30:24:10 00:30:27:18

- [Caleb] I really hope

these questions made sense,

00:30:27:18 00:30:28:22

I mean these answers made sense.

00:30:28:22 00:30:30:20

- Ha yeah yeah.

00:30:30:20 00:30:33:22

- [Caleb] I hope that they're impactful.

00:30:33:22 00:30:34:17

- Yeah somewhere out there somebody

00:30:34:17 00:30:35:18

wanna hear what you read.

00:30:35:18 00:30:38:02

- [Caleb] I appreciate

it man, I appreciate it.

00:30:38:02 00:30:39:21

So you have a good one.

00:30:39:21 00:30:42:02

- Alright bro, until next time.

00:30:42:02 00:30:43:05

00:30:43:05 00:30:44:01

and peace.

00:30:45:00 00:30:46:09
